ICAM Online – Information Collection, Analysis and Management
A foundation to both mission effectiveness and security is without doubt situational awareness and understanding. The bespoke ICAM course is designed to equip field staff from the full range of organization types with fundamental information collection, analysis and information management skills. It offers the difference between being vulnerable to an often rapidly evolving security landscape and the skill to effectively and proactively act in challenging conditions. The course is spread over 5 half days to better enable participant professional work / training balance; and to ensure trainee focus and retention of core modules.
The skills of establishing and managing networks of relationships people associate only with intelligence services have in fact been the bedrock to the world of business, diplomacy, journalism and even missionaries for centuries. From this perspective the ICAM course is designed to introduce proven techniques for enhanced Open Source exploitation of the wide spectrum of Internet services; through to enabling understanding of building human relationships and maintaining the networks that are often key to enable information flow.
Duty of care has over the last decade increased the demands made on organizations to better ensure their staff security in often challenging mission contexts. What is becoming increasingly recognized however is that duty of care is more than physical security, emergency response and insurance. Threat avoidance through professionally implemented situational awareness; enabled by training such as ICAM is a keystone to truly effective and meaningful duty of care.
The ICAM course has tapped into expertise available from across specialist Government organizations, journalism, NGOs, Mil, EU and UN. The combined spectrum of perspectives and experiences will be evident in the high calibre of lecturers who have all proven experience operating in highly challenging international areas; and are recognized within their fields of expertise.
